Ms. Carla Santos (E-Net Philippines President), welcomed and greeted everyone on a pleasant day. She shared that as the budget season for 2025 commences, E-Net would like to share its commitment to continue advancing inclusive education and supporting the marginalized sectors. With the agency submission to the national education expenditure program drawing near and preparation to engage into the legislative discussion in the general appropriations act for 2025, a budget consultative meeting with the department of education is done yearly to discuss and align its respective budget priorities and proposals, aimed at, enhancing educational outcomes, and ensuring that budget allocation to marginalized sectors and inclusive education programs are both adequate and efficiently utilized. E-Net would also like to know and understand DepEd priorities and how the CSO’s can support the department for these education budget to pass into a law together with the E-Net proposals. Ms. Santos, shared the four key priority areas that E-Net have identified for collaboration with DepEd, such as, teachers’ welfare and quality training, inclusive education program, school-based feeding program and climate change education. She thanked all the DepEd officials for their time and presence.
