The E-Net Philippines Capacity Building on Local Budget Advocacy for Mindanao member organizations concluded today.
 
The role of CSOs in the budget cycle phases was discussed by Mitzi Chan, Advocacy Specialist of E-Net to further develop E–Net members’ skills in analyzing budgets, identifying opportunities for education-related allocations, and entry points for participation and engagement of CSOs in the local budget process. To further situate the local budget advocacy in practice, the UnitedYouth of the Philippines – Women, Inc. (UNYPHIL-WOMEN), a member organization of E-Net Philippines, shared their successful local budget advocacy campaign and strategies.
 
In the afternoon session, E-Net members prepared their action plans for local budget advocacy initiatives for the Marginalized, Excluded and Vulnerable Sectors (MEVS).
